Taking care of pet in your home is hard enough. The situation becomes even harder when you have to relocate. You will be wanting to take the animals with you and that is no simple task.
One of these pets proves to be trickier than the others and those are fish. These kind of animals need water in order to live, just like we humans need air. On top of that they are so fragile and sensitive to changes that some people are afraid to move them around even in their home.
What can be done for those small fish to be able to survive a trip in a vehicle? You may take my advice and follow these steps:
- First of all you need to find a way of transport. A removal company would be perfect, since I’m guessing fish aren’t the only thing that you will be moving.
- You should then turn your attention to containment for transport. You know that simply putting them in one large tank, filled with water is a risk that’s not worth taking. All that water is going to be bouncing around, as well as the fish in it. Also glass in a moving van in a really bad choice. So we cross out that thought.
- No matter how careful the London removal company is, those tiny fish are still in danger of being dashed to death. So instead of putting them all in one place we are going to separate them in smaller containers.
- Those containers need to be from a soft material. What I use is a thick nylon bag, so it is both soft and strong. That way there is a lesser risk the bag will pop and the water will flow out.
- When you are done carefully sorting each of the fishes, you have to think about how to secure those bags, during the trip. A smart thing to do is find a polystyrene box, so it acts as an absorber for the vibrations.
- Place all of the bags in the box each one touching the other. Those bags that are next to the box’s walls should be reinforced with a soft layer of clothing or paper.
If your trip is longer than an hour or two, you may to change the strategy, because by then those fish will be out of oxygen.
